The Pride of Gambia!

The Abuko Pottery Center is a community-based initiative in Banjul, Gambia, Africa, where skilled ceramics artists teach and train people in the village to use clay. The center operates without access to electricity, and all pots are thrown on a kick wheel, often with teams of people taking turns. Despite the lack of a kiln or modern materials, the artists at the Abuko Pottery Center create beautiful and unique pieces of pottery using their ingenuity and traditional methods. The center provides a wonderful place for the community to learn and create, and people are happy to have access to such amazing instructors.
